The NEON Oldham Hub

Networking in East Oldham Neighbourhoods (NEON) was initially formed in 2011, became established in 2012 and became a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in 2015. NEON is a community group network made up of community groups who work together to improve communities by providing community services, groups and activities to the East Oldham neighbourhoods, communities and residents. All the groups are not for profit, we give our time for free and raise funds for these activities.

NEON works in partnership and collaboratively with statutory and non statutory organisations and groups to improve the community and benefit the residents of the East Oldham Neighbourhoods. NEON is at the heart of the community based in the Old Housing office/East Oldham Town Hall, providing an accessible community space that is valued and supported by the people of the local district and community.

NEON’s outstanding reputation in the voluntary sector and the community work provided through NEON has been recognised with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) which was awarded in 2021.

This outstanding reputation and high standards of work in the voluntary sector has also been recognised by the Local Council who are working along with other sector partners at the NEON Oldham Hub to create a district centre for Local Council and Partner services in the East District of Oldham.

With its continued support from its partners, volunteers and trustees, NEON continues to grow from strength to strength.
